MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME TO SUPPORT PhDs AND YOUNG RESEARCH FELLOWS IS LAUNCHED
(Berlin, July 19th) The Expert Working Group on Durum Wheat Genomics and Breeding (Durum EWG) is pleased to announce the launch of a transformative mentorship programme! The programme will support PhDs and young researchers from regions with limited existing support or capacity (non-OECD countries…) and undertaking durum wheat research or planning research focussed on durum wheat. This international contest will foster a supportive professional network for early career researchers, offering access to tutor´s laboratories and collaboration with senior researchers.
Luigi Cattivelli, Chair of Durum EWG said: "As chairs of the EWG we are proud to offer a programme that allows young durum scientists to overcome local difficulties and connect with labs working on durum wheat genomics, genetics, and breeding worldwide".
The mentorship programme comes in response to the growing need to build and support research capacity. By supporting and empowering young scientists, the initiative seeks to improve their career engagement, enhance their expertise in advanced molecular techniques and data analysis, and facilitate ongoing improvements in their professional careers.
