We invite the Early Career Researchers of the Expert Working Group on Wheat Pathogens to create and submit a video explaining their work! The challenge is to present your research results and their application, translating knowledge for a more general audience and not just for experts in the field.

Who can apply

Early career members (ECRs) of the Pathogens EWG pursuing a research project related to any wheat disease. If you are not yet a member apply to Pathogens EWG ECR at: https://www.wheatinitiative.org/early-career-researchers

ECRs must currently be working/studying and living at:

Wheat Initiative member country (Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Republic of Korea, Türkiye, United Kingdom, Uruguay, United States) or CIMMYT or ICARDA  or non-G20 or non-OECD country.

Submission and Deadline

Participants need to fill out this form to confirm that the video and the content shared is their own, and agree to share the video on WI website pages and on social networking sites. The outcome of the competition will be announced on 15th of November 2024

Submit your form and video on or before October 31, 2024.

Rules for video content

  • The video should be focussed on a wheat disease and must include the host(s), the pathogen, the symptoms and signs on the host(s).

  • The video should be addressed to general audience, avoiding complicated science terms.

  • The video should be a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 minutes in length.

  • Only one submission per individual will be considered.

  • There should not be any effects or changes in the original video.

  • Video should be a mp4 (960x540p)

Rules for making video: Videos for the competition should be creative, using music and cartoons, while maintaining professionalism and respectful language. Content must avoid divisive topics like politics or religion and show respect to all. Non-compliant videos will not be eligible for the competition.

Make sure you only use material for which you have permission or own the copyrights.
